Duke Health Psycho-Oncology Psychiatrist

The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Duke University School of Medicine invites applications for a board-certified/board-eligible Psychiatrist to support outpatient psycho-oncology services and the development of integrated psycho-oncology programs. We are seeking individuals who are interested in working with a growing team of clinicians, researchers, and educators with the goal of enhancing the range and scope of clinical services offered in this rapidly-expanding interdisciplinary field. The Psychiatrist will be responsible for direct clinical care, as well as teaching and mentoring medical students and general psychiatry residents. This position is a faculty appointment with rank commensurate to the applicant’s experience.  We are seeking both early career applicants and more experienced applicants interested in a senior leadership opportunity.

Primary Activities: This clinical faculty position will include participating in individual- and team-based clinical activities focused on psychological, social, and emotional support of adult oncology patients.  Clinical responsibilities will include participation in medical and interdisciplinary evaluations and intervention with adult oncology patients with an array of psychological and psychiatric needs. The position may also involve supervision of medical students and general psychiatry residents, as well as the provision of in-service trainings.  Scholarly activities are encouraged and supported.
