Emergency Medicine Nocturnist Physician – MUSC Health Catawba Division – Close to Charlotte, NC

MUSC Health is seeking a BC/BE Emergency Medicine Nocturnist Physician to join an established, physician-led emergency medicine team serving three hospitals within its Catawba Division.  This role offers an opportunity to live in the Charlotte, NC area and work in a well-supported ED providing a variety of practice settings while maintaining scheduling equity and consistency.  Enjoy manageable volumes, strong operational support, modern infrastructure, and competitive compensation backed by the resources of South Carolina’s only comprehensive academic health system.

About the Catawba Division: 

• MUSC Health Lancaster Medical Center (LMC): 211-bed hospital with 24-bed ED offering inpatient and specialty services in Lancaster, SC.  
• MUSC Health Chester Medical Center (CMC): 82-bed acute care hospital with 13-bed ED delivering emergency services and comprehensive clinical care to patients in Chester County.  
• MUSC Health Indian Land Medical Center: 52-bed hospital with an anticipated 24 bed ED currently under construction is set to open late 2027 

Required Qualifications: 

• MD/DO with board certification in Emergency Medicine 
• Eligibility for unrestricted medical licensure in the State of South Carolina 

Position Highlights: 

• EPIC EMR with DAX AI scribe available 
• Equitable distribution of 10-hour and 12-hour physician shifts 
• LMC ED and CMC ED supplemented with daily APP coverage. 
• ~1.8 – 2.0 pph 
• Annual LMC ED Volume: 32,000 with admission rate of 18% 
• Annual CMC ED Volume: 15,000 with admission rate of 7% 
• Complement of well-supported specialties  
• Excellent Integrated Hospital-Based Team

• Dedicated Air Transport based at Lancaster Medical Center
