About Kaiser Oakland’s Pediatric Heart Center
Established in 2018, the Pediatric Cardiac Surgical Program at Kaiser Oakland Medical Center provides multifaceted cardiac care supported by a strong partnership with Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford. Our combined Pediatric Heart Center team includes experienced cardiac surgeons, cardiac intensivists, pediatric intensivists, pediatric cardiac electrophysiologists, advanced cardiac imaging experts, transesophageal echocardiography, pediatric cardiac interventionalists, cardiovascular genetics, experienced critical care nursing, pediatric perfusionists, and more.
As the designated Kaiser Permanente Medical center responsible for pediatric cardiac surgical and interventional cardiac care to all of Kaiser Permanente’s 4.6 million Northern California patient population, we are expanding our clinical team and seeking skilled cardiac intensivists to help shape and further develop our cardiac intensive care program. Ideal candidates will bring strong collaboration, leadership, clinical, and interpersonal skills to thrive in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment. Opportunities exist to pursue individual interests in clinical research, quality improvement, and leadership.
We are recruiting two Cardiac Intensivist positions:
1. Medical Director of the Pediatric Cardiac ICU
2. Staff Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist
The Pediatric Cardiac ICU Director will work closely with Kaiser Permanente Pediatric Heart Center leadership and Pediatric ICU staff and leadership to advance our growing program.
Role & Responsibilities for both positions include:
1. Inpatient care of pediatric cardiac surgical, interventional cardiology, and congenital heart disease patients within the pediatric intensive care at Kaiser Oakland Medical Center.
2. Active participation in a collaborative, interdisciplinary congenital heart program.
3. Depending on training background and board certifications, and skillsets, responsibilities may also include:
Inpatient/Outpatient pediatric cardiology clinical care
Pediatric ICU (PICU) coverage
Qualifications:
Board Certification or Eligibility in Pediatric Cardiology and/or Pediatric Critical Care
Dual board certification in Pediatric Cardiology and Pediatric Critical Care preferred
Cardiac intensive care training and experience required
Eligibility for a California medical license (or currently licensed in CA)
