Saratoga Hospital Medical Group – Behavioral Health seeks a full-time psychiatrist who will be a Saratoga Hospital-employed physician within our group and practice in an outpatient setting at Saratoga County Mental Health, a community mental health clinic treatment model.

In the clinic, the psychiatrist will work in a treatment team of community mental health nurses and social workers with approximately one-hour patient evaluations and 30-minute medication check appointments. The psychiatrist conducts initial psychiatric evaluations and periodic reviews; provides psychiatric treatment and medication management to clients and monitors participant progress towards the attainment of individual goals; attends and participates in weekly supervision, weekly staff meetings and periodic in-service trainings and may present issues/cases for review. The practice utilizes the eCR TenEleven electronic medical record.

The Saratoga County Mental Health Clinic provides outpatient treatment, emergency and crisis intervention, screening and referral, individual, family, and group counseling, medication education and management, and symptom management.  In addition to the main clinic in Saratoga Springs, the Clinic maintains a satellite in Mechanicville. Youth Services provides treatment for emotionally and behaviorally disturbed children and adolescents up to the age of eighteen, who, together with their parents, often require intensive interventions.  Youth Services provides community-oriented consultative activities in conjunction with community-based interventions. Adult Services provides treatment for mentally ill adults, particularly those who are seriously and persistently mentally ill.  For the seriously and persistently mentally ill, a long-term disease management approach to medication management and supportive therapy is utilized.

There is some flexibility with hours as we offer three late nights. The office hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday and Friday, and we are open until 8 Tuesday, 7:30 Wednesday and Thursday. Saratoga County Mental Health Center is located in a bright, spacious renovated building restored in 2013, within walking distance to downtown Saratoga and Saratoga Spa State Park.

Psychiatrists in the practice provide coverage for the Saratoga Hospital inpatient mental health unit as needed. Psychiatrists take inpatient call for a 16-bed inpatient adult mental health unit. Call is paid and approximately 1:10, taken evenings by phone with rounding on weekends.

Psychiatrists are part of a larger collegial team that also includes the psychiatrists in the hospital, at the Saratoga Community Health Center and Saratoga County Mental Health as well as Saratoga Hospital Medical Group Primary Care - Wilton. Psychiatrists work closely across the system with physicians and advanced practitioners in our primary care and specialty network as part of Saratoga Hospital Medical Group.

Psychiatrists and Advanced Practice Providers for Saratoga County Department of Mental Health & Addiction Services are employed by Saratoga Hospital  and work as part of Saratoga Hospital Medical Group - Behavioral Health Services.
