Rush University Medical Center, a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution and the teaching hospital for Rush Medical and Nursing Colleges, located in downtown Chicago, invites applications for the position of Palliative Medicine Physician in the Division of Geriatrics, Gerontology and Palliative Medicine. The Palliative Medicine Section is seeking motivated candidates, with a focus on chronic pain management, to serve as a clinician-educator at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. Palliative Medicine is a multidisciplinary team that involves Social Workers, Advanced Practice Providers, Nurses and Medical Assistants. The Palliative team works closely with Supportive Oncology with access to substance intervention services and psychiatry. This position brings excellent opportunity to develop teaching skills for both graduate and undergraduate clinical skills through extensive involvement in multiple educational programs.
The team currently covers three main areas: consult service, outpatient clinic and outpatient oncology patients. The opportunity is ideal for the palliative medicine physician who is interested in an urban academic teaching hospital and working within a robust and rapidly growing interdisciplinary palliative medicine team. This position includes patient care, education and scholarly productivity.

Candidates must be board eligible/board certified certification in Hospice and Palliative Medicine. Rush offers competitive total compensation that includes base pay, benefits, and other incentive programs for our employees. The total pay range shown reflects the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, knowledge and skills; relevant experience and training; education, certifications, and licensure; primary work location; and other business and organizational factors. This total pay range is for a full-time, 1.0 FTE employee, and includes any incentive payments that may be applicable to this role. Opportunities for increased compensation based on exceeding productivity targets. Additional compensation may include sign-on and retention bonuses and relocation allowances. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package.
Pay Range: $ 236,435 - $ 328,270
