The Havener Eye Institute, Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at The Ohio State University is seeking applicants for a full-time comprehensive ophthalmologist with ophthalmic hospitalist duties at the assistant professor level or higher.  Focus will be on inpatient and emergency department ophthalmologic care, teaching, limited clinical practice including ocular surgery (e.g. cataracts), and opportunities for research.  This role will require staffing of surgeries generated from the clinic as well as shared call coverage for open globes. Duties will include ophthalmic urgent care service, bedside procedures and imaging, and didactic and clinical training of residents.  The position will have support from a full complement of subspecialist ophthalmologist colleagues.

Requirements
Applicants must be board-eligible or board certified in Ophthalmology by the time of appointment, and be eligible for licensure in the State of Ohio. Qualified candidates must hold an MD or DO degree and have completed an approved residency program in Ophthalmology.  Successful completion of fellowship training is favored, but not required.  Academic rank and salary are commensurate with experience and academic credentials. Knowledge and proficiency in the medical and surgical management area of subspecialty. Demonstrated interest in scholarship and discovery by evidence of clinical publications is desirable. Commitment to resident, fellow, and medical student education is required.
