WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Franciscan Physician Network is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with past or present Oncology work experience to meet the growing demand for our Oncology – Hematology team at Franciscan Health Woodland Cancer Care Center located in Michigan City, Indiana. This provider will have a primarily inpatient focus. We provide a team-oriented, family-like culture that empowers you to focus on your passion for patient care. WHAT WE NEED:

Ideal candidate will have past or present experience in oncology. Advanced Practice Provider will have a focus on clinical excellence and patient satisfaction. Candidate will display exceptional interpersonal skills and desire to develop strong ties with inpatient clinical staff. Provider will need to work collaboratively with physician to coordinate and deliver the highest quality of patient care.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:

  • Clinic hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m
  • Flexible full-time schedule; no weekends or holidays
  • Average inpatient volume: 10 to 15 patients per day                                                
  • Average outpatient volume: 15 to 17 patients per day
  • Will collaborate with rotating oncologist on assessment and plan
  • Common Diagnoses:
    • Breast
    • Colon
    • Lung
    • Head and neck
    • Rectal
    • Benign and malignant hematologic disorders
  • Collaborate with rotating oncologists weekly
  • Develop heightened inpatient oncology assessment skills
  • Engage with clinical staff providing direct patient care
  • Oversight of infusion center patients; available for assistance as needed

Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree Required
  • Physician Assistant Certified (PA-C) – Required – or -       
  • Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Nationally Recognized Certification - Required
  • Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association - Required
