Akron Children’s Hospital is actively seeking a second Pediatric Interventional Radiologist to join its growing team.  As the largest pediatric healthcare system in Northeast Ohio, we offer the only interventional radiology program dedicated to infants, children and teens in the region.

The Department of Radiology has an established group of 11 pediatric radiologists who provide a full range of pediatric imaging procedures.  The Interventional Radiology team consists of an established pediatric interventional radiologist, an advanced practice provider, 6 nurses, 2 medical assistants and 2 technologists.  The working atmosphere is collegial and is largely clinical with opportunities for teaching residents and medical students as well as research.  It is anticipated this position will have a 30% diagnostic imaging rotation component to the practice. 

The Department of Radiology main campus performs over 115,000 procedures annually and is equipped with 3 MRIs (including two 3T MRIs), 2 volumetric CT scanners (360 slices), 5 US units and 2 fluoroscopy sites.  A state-of-the-art IR suite opened in 2016 and an intraoperative 3T MRI suite opened in 2017.  Adjacent to the OR, the IR suite can function as a hybrid room.

The successful candidate will be BE/BC in pediatric radiology and will have completed a Pediatric Interventional Radiology fellowship and/or an Adult Interventional Radiology Fellowship with pediatric training.  Academic appointments can be obtained from Northeast Ohio Medical University, commensurate with experience.
