Psychiatrist, Inpatient Geriatric Unit

The Geriatric Unit at Sheppard Pratt’s Towson Campus is a safe, secure, and welcoming 20-bed inpatient unit that is specially designed for the treatment of older adults with mental illnesses and dementia-related disorders.

You will lead a highly specialized, compassionate treatment team focusing on crisis stabilization, and supporting the patient’s ability to return to their home community or to a less restrictive level of care. You will also have opportunities to participate in the expansion of Sheppard Pratt’s geriatric program into innovative treatment settings in the community, as well as opportunities to supervise and mentor.

• Must have a current license to practice in Maryland at time of hire.
• Must be board certified or board eligible.
• Experience treating geriatric patients.
• Experience treating patients in an acute inpatient setting.
• A fellowship in geriatric psychiatry is preferred.
