Job Description

ECU Health and The Outer Banks Hospital in Nags Head, NC, is seeking a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant to help pick up shifts in the Emergency Department. New providers will need to come in the day before schedule for orientation. Need as soon as credentialed.

Details:

  • Inpatient only - will only accept candidates with ED inpatient experience within the last 12 months
  • Established team of 6 physicians and 3 Nurse Practitioners/Physician Assistants
  • 18 acute care medical-surgical beds, 2 labor and delivery/recovery beds, 1 level II nursery bed and 3 operating rooms, a designated caesarian section room, and a 24-hour emergency department
  • Specialty consultation available including general surgery, orthopedics, cardiology, and telestroke
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS/APLS certifications required (through American Heart Association)
  • NC DEA Required
  • No call
  • Average Total Inpatient Census: 20
  • No ICU/Critical Care Duties
  • Provider is responsible for responding to codes
  • ECU Health Air and ECU Health Ground Support to immediately transfer patients
  • System-wide EMR (EPIC)
