  • Practice Detail: Ascension-Wisconsin is looking for a fulltime Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Physician to join our elite team!

Responsibilities

Ascension Wisconsin is looking for a Board Certified/Board Eligible Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Physician for our Hospitalist team as a Nocturnist. 

 

This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to partner with Ascension Wisconsin to provide medical services to patients.

 

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

  • Join a well-established practice consisting of Day Hospitalists, Nocturnists, Day APNPs and Nocturnist PAs
  • Hours - 7on/7off, 6pm-6am
  • Must be Board Eligible/Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine, Hospitalist experience is preferred

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Work with a team that is experienced, and enjoys working in a strong team atmosphere
  • Evaluates and treats patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills 
  • Respond to all code blue and rapid response calls; ability to perform procedures if you desire, but not required
  • Recommends, participates in, and works to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients
  • Accepts patient referrals from other physicians. Acts as admitting, attending and/or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, depending on needs of patients, medical staff and hospital
  • Participates in academic programs (e.g. medical education and research) as requested
  • Provides appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner
  • Participates in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, which may include on call schedules

  • St Elizabeth Hospital is newly renovated with a state of the art 90-bed patient tower
  • Full complement of sub-specialists on staff (Cardiology, Pulmonary/Critical Care, Gastroenterology, Renal, Surgical)
  • Hospitalist Team has a supportive nursing/administrative team
  • Average admission per night: 8

Requirements

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

  • One or more of the following required:
    • Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.Licensure is dependent on state associate works in. Verified by local Credentialing Office.
    • Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Wisconsin Medical Examining Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.Licensure is dependent on state associate works in. Verified by local Credentialing Office.
  • Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA). Verified by local Credentialing Office preferred.

 

Education:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Optometry (OD) or Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) required.
