OPPORTUNITY HIGHLIGHTS

Loyola University Chicago (LUC) Stritch School of Medicine Department of Surgery is seeking a Colon and Rectal Surgeon to join its team with a dual appointment at Loyola University Medical Center (LUMC) and the Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital.

The clinical program at Loyola is comprehensive and includes treatment of benign and malignant colorectal disease, inflammatory bowel diseases, anorectal conditions, and functional disorders. Collaboration with oncologists, urogynecologists, gynecologic oncologists, and gastroenterologists is robust. Competence with laparoscopy and robotic surgery is expected. The candidate should have an interest in endoscopy as well.

The clinical program includes participation in multidisciplinary programs with the pelvic floor disorder and GI oncology teams. Candidates should be board certified/eligible in Colon and Rectal Surgery and General Surgery and demonstrate a dedication to clinical excellence, teaching, scholarly activity, and institutional service. Teaching and mentoring of general surgery residents is essential. Clinical research is strongly encouraged.

Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with experience and at the assistant or associate professor levels. Potential opportunities for leadership positions within the Division exist for suitable candidates.
