Clinician Scientist, Dept. of Dermatology

The Ohio State University is recruiting a tenure-track scientist to expand cutaneous biology research.

The Department of Dermatology at The Ohio State University College of Medicine/Wexner Medical Center is seeking to expand cutaneous biology research. We seek a candidate with demonstrated scholarly achievement, a commitment to excellence, and interest in expanding departmental infrastructure in basic and translational science. Applicants will be granted a tenure track professorship commensurate with their experience and previous institution(s) and a generous start-up package. This position includes productivity-based compensation as well as exceptional healthcare, tuition, paid parental leave and retirement benefits.

Minimum Requirements: MD, MD/PhD, or PhD, with a demonstrated area of recognition in cutaneous biology research and significant experience in leading a laboratory.

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is the largest academic medical center in central Ohio and has a referral base throughout Ohio and the Midwest. The College of Medicine was recently ranked in the top 12 public medical schools in the country by the US News and World Report and is funded by over $367 million in external research support for 2022 alone. The Division of Dermatology currently has 18 full-time faculty members, 5 part-time dermatologists, 4 pediatric faculty members, 12 community physicians, a fully accredited residency program with 10 residents, and over 16 active clinical trials, including multiple investigator-initiated trials. A tissue biorepository containing over a thousand specimens including flash-frozen skin, FFPE skin, subcutaneous tissue, serum, and PBMCs are immediately available for access include many common skin diseases and controls. Currently, the department maintains grant funding through the National Psoriasis Foundation, and Dermatology Foundation. Faculty in the department have published over 170 publications in 2022 and clinicians actively seek collaboration with basic and translational scientists.
