Assistant/Associate Professor of Endocrinology

Clinical Scholar Pathway: Assistant/Associate Professor

Location: Department of Medicine (Division of Endocrinology and Diabetes)

Responsibilities:

  • Ambulatory care of patients requiring endocrinologic care in the University of Vermont Health Network.
  • The role will include (20% effort) at the Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital University, combined with an academic/clinical care effort (80% effort) at The University of Vermont Medical Center.

Qualifications:

  • BC/BE in Endocrinology and Diabetes.
  • Strong clinical experience as well as a commitment to excellence in teaching.

The University of Vermont Health Network – Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital (CVPH) is part of a six-hospital network serving patients and their families in northern New York and Vermont. CVPH is a 300-bed community hospital located in the northeastern region of New York State serving a catchment area of approximately 170,000. The facility includes a 14-bed state-of-the-art critical care unit and 9 state-of-the-arts OR’s. The typical daily census is approximately 250 (approximately 130 acute/private beds). We have an average of 25 admissions and 775 outpatients per day. We have over 230 physicians on the Medical Staff representing many sub-specialties. On average CVPH has 9,400 admissions, 825 births, 46,000 emergency room (Level 3 Trauma Center) visits and 19,000 surgical procedures.  CVPH is JCAHO accredited and recognized by Healthgrades as a Top 100 Hospital for Cardiac Care.

Our state of the art critical care unit has 14-beds, the Progressive Care Unit has 12 beds and our three cath labs have digital equipment. We have 9 state-of-the-arts OR’s, a 27-room Emergency Department and newly constructed interventional radiology suites. Our Ambulatory Surgery Center has 4 OR’s and 4 endoscopy suites. The EMR network wide in both the clinic and inpatient settings is EPIC.  

Now more than ever, CVPH is committed to creating a learning environment to provide a comprehensive and well-rounded medical training experience. Our affiliation with the University of Vermont Medical Center, a level I trauma center located 1 hour away, has helped us to establish a community-based Family Medicine Residency. In addition, we have Emergency Medicine residents and medical students from UVM doing clinical rotations at CVPH.
