Opportunity for an experienced Pancreatic and Hepatobiliary Surgeon to join The Center for Digestive Health at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health.  This surgeon will practice in Tacoma on the campus of St. Joseph Medical Center, a comprehensive medical center serving the South Puget Sound region.  Duties will also include being core faculty for the St. Joseph Hospital General Surgery Residency Program.

Responsibilities

• Participate in teaching of residents and multidisciplinary care of complex HPB patients as a member of the Center for Digestive Health at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health.
• Practice Call.  No General Surgery Call.  
• Willingness to travel to and work at satellite facilities if needed
• Works with ambulatory leadership, hospital leadership, and Center leaders as
  needed to resolve operational or clinical support challenges.

Qualifications

• Medical Degree
• 3+ years of HPB surgery or HPB surgical oncology practice experience
• Board certified in General Surgery (ABS)
• Accredited-HPB Surgery and/or Surgical Oncology fellowship trained
• Experience in both advanced liver and pancreatic surgery, including minimally
  invasive and robotic surgical approaches
• Ability to obtain privileges at VMFH hospitals 
• Ability to obtain a medical professional license in the state of WA
• Ability to obtain a DEA license with full prescriptive authority needed for specific practice
• Must be a physician in good standing
• No undisclosed conflicts of interest
