This includes accurate and timely medical record documentation and providing billing information as needed. Oversight of nursing staff, medical students, and resident physicians during patient interactions is crucial, along with active participation in surgical research. Delivering lectures to medical students and residents, attending departmental conferences, and adhering to safety protocols are all integral aspects of this role

The role entails offering pediatric surgical and trauma call coverage at University Medical Center on a 14-day on/14-day off rotation. While on service, responsibilities include delivering pediatric in-hospital surgical services and conducting consultations in a clinic located on the University Medical Center campus. Teaching surgical residents and medical students is also a key aspect of the position. Required qualifications include an MD degree and board certification or eligibility in pediatric surgery.
