Pediatric Endocrinologist - Coastal Charleston, SC

The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Department of Pediatrics seeks a Pediatric Endocrinologist at the Associate Professor or Professor level to serve as the Division Chief to the Division of Pediatric Endocrinology. Currently the Division includes five faculty members, one advanced practice provider and many other support staff including social workers and dieticians.

This opportunity is located in Charleston, SC at a major academic medical center that serves a diverse population of patients from a large geographic area.

Ranked among the top programs in the country, the Division of Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes operates within MUSC’s Department of Pediatrics and provides comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services for a broad range of diagnoses. Division members currently include 2 full time in person M.D. Faculty members, 2 full time Tele-MDs, 2 part time Tele-MDs, 1 in person APP, a dietician, and a dedicated social worker. The Division provides comprehensive care to children and teenagers with diabetes and a variety of other endocrine issues. We conduct clinical research studies that offer patients and their families an opportunity to participate in population health research as well as clinical trials.

Ideal Candidates:

  • Qualified for Associate or Professor rank in Pediatrics
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatric Endocrinology
  • Committed to MUSC’s educational missions and enthusiastic about patient-centered care
  • Eligible for licensure in South Carolina
  • Record of achievement in individual research or scholarship
  • Demonstrated success in developing clinical, research, or educational programs in an academic health center
  • Record of mentoring trainees and/or junior faculty
  • Budgetary experience leading a clinical, research, or educational entity that would translate well to supervising a large division
