The Indiana University School of Medicine Southwest Indiana Internal Medicine Residency program offers broad-based clinical training in state-of-the-art facilities. Good Samaritan Hospital’s partnership with the IU School of Medicine enhances our educational mission to train physicians to care for medically complex patients in a community hospital environment in Vincennes, IN.
Position Highlights:
• Core Faculty members devote at least 15 hours/week to resident education and administration, evaluate competency domains, work closely with PD, assist in developing and implementing evaluation systems, and teach and advise residents
• Key Faculty contribute to graduate medical education through the primary role of precepting in the Residency Outpatient clinic – ratio approximately 4:1
• Indiana University Faculty appointment with promotability & opportunity for scholarship and publication
• The IM Residency Program opened in July 2020 and is fully accredited. Our residents produce award-winning scholarships at local & regional levels
• Good Samaritan is a 156-bed level III Trauma Center, and a Certified Primary Stroke Center serving a quarter of a million people throughout southern Indiana and Illinois
• Accredited Cancer Center on-site, EPIC EMR, and other state-of-the-art technology and equipment including DaVinci & MAKO robots
• No call, outpatient only – multiple subspecialists for consults
Compensation and Benefits:
• Guaranteed base $250,000 plus $45,000 sign on and up to $10,000 paid relocation
• Options for Renewable Loan Repayment program
• 31 days ATO, 5 CME days and $5,000
• Comprehensive benefits package including 401a, 403b retirement and tail coverage
Candidates must have an MD, DO, or equivalent degree and be Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Internal Medicine or equivalent. Must be IN licensed (or eligible). Must adhere to ACGME Program Requirements for Residency Education in Internal Medicine regarding faculty expectations.
