Amazing opportunity to join a thriving national health care system and take your career to the next level!  We are seeking an experienced, board-certified physician to join our administrative team and provide leadership to the Utilization Management Committee (UM), Case Management (CM) and Health Information Management (HIM)/Clinical Documentation Improvement Departments.

In the Physician Advisor role, you will both lead and promote processes for patients to receive medically necessary and high-quality care throughout the continuum of care, stay abreast of professional best practices and community standards of care, assist administration by limiting financial risks associated with denials and extended length of stays.

This is a challenging role, and although we are seeking experienced candidates, we will entertain physicians with a documented history of success who have a desire and drive to excel.

The Physician Advisor will have responsibility for two of our Alabama acute care hospitals.  Shelby Baptist Medical Center is a 252-bed hospital located in Alabaster, Alabama, just south of Birmingham.  Citizens Baptist Medical Center is a 122-bed hospital located in Talladega, Alabama, east of Birmingham.

Shelby Baptist Medical Center is a 252-bed acute care facility in Alabaster, Alabama, one of the fastest growing suburbs in the Birmingham area. Alabaster is located twenty-five minutes south of downtown Birmingham, and employs over 1,000 employees and approximately 191 affiliated physicians.  The hospital offers a comprehensive range of clinical services, including cardiology, obstetrics/gynecology, general surgery, robotic surgery, a bariatrics program, emergency services, orthopedics, neurology, urology and gastroenterology along with specialized medical and surgical care.  In addition, there are several centers on campus that include: cancer, diagnostics, home health, sleep, and vascular surgery.
