NEW POSITION - Cancer Center Section Chief/Hematologist Oncologist in the Midwest

Holzer Health System is seeking an additional BE/BC Hematologist/Oncologist to join our team and serve in the role of Cancer Center Section Chief.

  • Two-year guaranteed salary of $650,000 + production incentive and bonus opportunity
  • Additional compensation for Section Chief role
  • $75,000 sign on bonus
  • Up to $150,000 educational loan reimbursement - qualifies for PSLF program
  • Early commitment stipend of $2,000/month, up to 18 months, when signed prior to completion of fellowship program

Practice Details:

  • Comprehensive cancer treatment, including lung, colon, breast, and prostate cases
  • Resources and support through direct exclusive affiliation with Cleveland Clinic Cancer Center
  • Minimal on-call responsibilities with mainly phone consultations; partnership with OVP Health provides 24/7 hospitalist support for a balanced work-life schedule
  • Access to a broad referral network with more than 55 primary care providers
  • Supported with top technology, including our True Beam Radiation Oncology services
  • Additional extensive support services available, such as General Surgery, Pathology, Interventional Radiology, Wound Care, Home Health, Physical/Occupational Therapy, and more, with strong collegial support
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
  • Hematology/Oncology split of 60/40
  • Opportunity to work with residents and medical students
  • Team currently consists of one Hematologist Oncologist and one Radiation Oncologist with tremendous opportunity to expand

Section Chief Duties:

  • Provide oversight of the Cancer Center, including Joint Commission and Commission on Cancer (COC) accreditation
  • Serve as the Cancer Liaison Physician for the Health System
  • Assist with the development of policies and procedures for operations of the Cancer Center (e.g. schedules, workflows, call coverage) ensuring optimal quality and ethical conduct pertaining to patient care
  • Develop relationships for the coordination of patient care with stakeholders, including but not limited to referral sources, patients, and community members
  • Participate in new provider recruitment for the Cancer Center
  • Actively participate in staff interviews, as well as performance improvement activities and staff development
