Kernodle Clinic, an affiliate of Duke Health Integrative Practice is seeking a BC/BE fellowship-trained Orthopaedic hand surgeon to join our thriving community-based practice with locations in Burlington, and Mebane, North Carolina. The ideal candidate will be patient centered, community focused, and able to provide general Orthopedics coverage with a particular interest in hand conditions.
The Kernodle Clinic is Duke’s largest community-based multi-specialty practice with 95 providers in 15 medical and surgical specialties and has a strong relationship with the local hospital, Alamance Regional Medical Center (ARMC), which is part of the Cone Health System. The Kernodle Orthopedics physicians perform their surgical procedures at two ARMC locations, the main hospital located in Burlington and an outpatient surgery center located in Mebane. The Orthopedics Department consists of five orthopedic surgeons, one Family Practice Sports Medicine physician, and five physician assistants. The physicians have built very busy practices over the years and have a great reputation in the community. Collectively, the department provides 18,000+ office encounters and 1,500 surgical procedures per year.
Kernodle Orthopedics’ office hours are Monday through Thursday from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. and Fridays 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. The office staff consists of (3) Receptionists, (1) Registered Nurse (8) Certified Medical Assistants, and one (1) Office Manager. The Department works in the Kernodle Burlington and Mebane offices.
Hospital ER Call coverage is compensated separately by the hospital and the current rotation is 1:6, and would remain 1:6 with the new physician. Office call is currently 1:4 and would be 1:5. During a normal week, the surgeons spend two days in surgery and three days seeing patients in the office. This will likely be the same schedule for the incoming surgeon as well.
