Pediatric Neurology Opportunities at Children's Hospital of Michigan - Detroit

The Children’s Hospital of Michigan located in Detroit is seeking Pediatric Neurologists and a Pediatric Epileptologist to join our Division. The Division is comprised of 11 Pediatric Neurologists.  Currently, we have 4 board certified epileptologists, 2 clinical neuropsychologists, and 2 genetics counselors.  Together, they take a team approach to providing the highest quality of care to each patient.   

All faculty are eligible for academic appointments at Central Michigan University.  We have 6 NIH funded grants related to epilepsy and neurophysiology, and there are several opportunities to participate in research and scholarly activities.  

About the position: 

• Outpatient and academic responsibilities 

• Shared weekend call with Pediatric Neurology and Adult Neurology residents every 4-8 weeks 

• An academic appointment at Central Michigan University College of Medicine, with numerous opportunities for research 

• Level 1 Trauma Center and NAEC Level IV Epilepsy Center with dedicated EMU 

• Support staff that includes NP’s, RN’s and MA’s 

• ACGME-accredited pediatric neurology residency and pediatric epilepsy fellowship programs 

Ideal Candidates Will Be:   

• Board Certified/Board Eligible in Pediatric Neurology  

• Subspecialty fellowship trained in Movement Disorder or Epilepsy 

• Interested in working in a subspecialty clinic with a multidisciplinary approach 

• Have passion for providing exceptional clinical care  

• Interested in teaching medical students/residents/fellows 

• Eligible to obtain license in the State of Michigan 

About the Division:  

We are a group of child neurologists and nurse practitioners who provide evidence-based, empathetic, thoughtful and high-quality care to children with neurological conditions. We share collegial relationships with other specialists at CHM and our neurosurgical colleagues, which allows us to work collaboratively in complex clinical situations. We have access to cutting edge imaging including 3-T MRI, PET scanners, low-radiation CTs and work closely with highly trained pediatric neuroradiologists. Our physicians are contributors to peer-reviewed medical journals, board-certified in several sub-specialties within child neurology and active in academic medicine.
