Adult Psychiatry
One of Illinois' Most Flexible & Well-Resourced Academic Medicine Psychiatry Programs
Practice Highlights
• Shape your ideal practice. Build the academic psychiatry career you actually want — a flexible blend of outpatient care, consults, teaching, and the freedom to incorporate ECT, TMS, telepsychiatry, clinical trials, or research based on your interests.
• Never practice alone. 23 faculty psychiatrists, experienced APPs, LCSWs, and a thriving residency program that actively buffers attending workload — one of Central Illinois' largest and most established Psychiatry departments.
• Keep your evenings. A light 1:6 resident-supported call schedule that has historically resulted in little to no after-hours call-ins — and only 2 holidays per year.
• Lead, teach, or discover. True academic medicine: Grand Rounds, resident oversight, committee involvement, and clinician, educator, or research-focused tracks. Plus one of Illinois' leading ECT programs, TMS, a developmental disability clinic, geriatrics, and correctional telehealth — all under one department.
