Driscoll Children’s Hospital – Rio Grande Valley is excited to announce an exceptional opportunity for a Program Director to lead our new Pediatric Residency Program. This role offers the unique chance to help shape the future of pediatric medicine in South Texas by mentoring and developing the next generation of pediatricians in a dynamic and mission-driven environment.

Position Highlights:

  • Serve as Program Director with 0.5 FTE dedicated to leadership and administrative duties
  • Opportunity to build and lead a pediatric training program from the ground up
  • Provide comprehensive pediatric care across inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Engage a diverse and underserved population
  • Participate in affiliate faculty and academic opportunities
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of pediatric specialists and educators

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited medical school
  • Board-certified in Pediatrics
  • Active or eligible for a Texas state medical license
  • Minimum of three years of documented educational and/or administrative experience
  • At least one year of experience as core faculty in a pediatric residency or specialty fellowship program

The new eight-level hospital will be located on the campus of Doctors Hospital Renaissance Health, making it the only designated, freestanding, children’s hospital in the Rio Grande Valley. Through the vision and generosity of its founder, Clara Driscoll, Driscoll Children’s Hospital opened in Corpus Christi, Texas in 1953. The new location with further the mission to provide medical care to all the children of South Texas by providing the following pediatric services: pediatric specialists, acute inpatient and outpatient surgery, emergency services, Level III NICU, PICU, rehabilitation, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, imaging, laboratory, and child life program.
