Stroke Rehabilitation Physiatrist Opportunity in Chicago

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Stroke Rehabilitation Attending Physiatrist  to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will lead and coordinate the rehabilitation efforts for patients recovering from stroke and other brain injuries, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clinical Leadership: Provide expert medical oversight and management for patients in the stroke and brain injury rehabilitation program.

  • Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with a team of physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, neuropsychologists, and nursing staff to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.

  • Patient Management: Conduct comprehensive evaluations, monitor patient progress, and adjust treatment plans as necessary to achieve optimal functional outcomes.

  • Education and Training: Mentor and educate medical residents, fellows, and rehabilitation staff, fostering a collaborative learning environment.

  • Research and Quality Improvement: Engage in clinical research initiatives and quality improvement projects aimed at advancing rehabilitation practices and patient care.

  • Community Engagement: Participate in community outreach programs to promote awareness and education on stroke and brain injury prevention and recovery.

Qualifications

  • Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.

  • Training: Completion of an accredited residency program in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R).

  • Board Certification: Board certification or eligibility in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Fellowship training in Brain Injury Medicine is highly preferred.

  • Experience: Minimum of [X] years of clinical experience in stroke and brain injury rehabilitation.

  • Skills: Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
