We are excited to present an exceptional opportunity for a Program Director to lead and develop the new Family Medicine Residency Program at Lakewood Ranch Medical Center, located in Lakewood Ranch, FL. This role is central to the growth of Graduate Medical Education (GME) in Florida, as we prepare to launch a Family Medicine residency program, with the goal of welcoming our first program in July 2027.

This position offers the chance to establish a GME program on Florida s West Coast, significantly impacting the community by training the next generation of physicians and advancing our mission to provide the highest standard of care and positive patient outcomes. The role combines direct clinical practice, leadership, teaching, and administrative responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide full responsibility for the Family Medicine Residency Program and ensure a supportive and effective educational environment
  • Facilitate resident development in all ACGME competency standards
  • Lead administrative, teaching, and leadership duties required for program success
  • Transition from initial consulting role to 0.5 FTE Program Director with additional clinical practice

Qualifications

  • Board Certified by ABFM/AOBFM with specialty expertise
  • Minimum 3 years experience in Family Medicine residency programs as Core Faculty, Associate Program Director, or Program Director preferred
  • At least 3 years recent documented experience in an accredited GME program
  • Demonstrated leadership, educational, and clinical skills
  • Recent scholarly activities or research history preferred
  • Strong communication skills and commitment to collaborative, high-quality care
