Rural Physicians Group (RPG) is looking for a hospitalist to join our team at Houlton Regional Hospital who is passionate about rural medicine, is looking to make a difference in medically underserved communities and wants to enjoy a flexible schedule with more autonomy.

Our expansive network of passionate, experienced hospitalists, surgicalists and APPs works full-time to solve the healthcare crisis in rural communities, partnering with hospitals to offer continuity of care and improved patient outcomes.

Brief Description: Houlton is a town in and the county seat of Aroostook County, Maine, on the Canada-United States border. It is perhaps best known for being at the northern terminus of Interstate 95.

Credentialing: 30-90 days
Schedule: 7-10, 24-hour shifts/month
Call: 24/7 call coverage, daytime hospitalist with overnight tele-nocturnist support

- ICU Beds: 0; Up to 4 Intermediate Care Beds located within Acute Care Unit
- Acute Beds: 25 with occasional medical overflow on the LDRP Unit
Observation:
- Swing Beds: Intermingled with 25 Acute Care Unit beds
- Average Daily Census: 18
- Max Census: 25
- Average Daily Discharges: 2
- Avg LOS: 4.02, 3.46 (excluding DWP), rolling average 4.93, 3.73 (excluding DWP)
- Swing Bed: 12
- Avg. Weekly Admissions: About 24 admissions to Inpatients, Observations and Swing per week
Acuity: CHF, COPD, Pneumonia, DKA
Subspecialty Support: Neurology (Outpt. clinic only), General Surgery, &Anesthesia
Tele-Nocturnist- Nightly 10pm-6am MST
Anesthesia is in house M-F from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm with after hours and weekend call.
General Surgery is available most weeks M-Th. Limited after-hours coverage. There is no weekend coverage for General Surgery.
EMR: Cerner Community Works
Minimum 1 years of experience practicing autonomously

Intubations
Active ME License or the ability to obtain

Independent Contractor (1099)
Malpractice Insurance Covered by RPG
Providers have private living accommodations that include a private bathroom with shower and an office space.
o Linens and housekeeping provided
wRVU model:
- Base - $2,200/shift
-Travel - $100/shift
-Eligible for Prime
wRVU Threshold –18 average over the quarter
wRVU payment - $29.69 for any wRVUs generated (Average is 18 so you would be looking at around an additional $534.42+ per shift)
