Exciting Opportunity for General Medicine Physicians to Support Veterans as a Locum Provider

As a Locum Physician specializing in General Medicine NM, you will play a vital role in conducting Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments across various locations in New Mexico. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct interview-based C&P exams and separation health assessments for veterans.
- Perform physical assessments such as range of motion and muscle strength testing.
- Manage exams within your own office location within a 50-mile radius of designated areas.
- Complete exams on a PRN basis, with options for half-day or full-day shifts.
- Submit detailed reports and addendums promptly for each assessment performed.
- Maintain compliance with program guidelines, including no prescribing or treatment procedures.
Required Skills:
- Medical license in good standing.
- Background in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or similar general medicine fields.
- Experience with compensation and pension evaluations preferred.
- Strong interviewing skills and physical assessment capabilities.
- Efficient time management and ability to adhere to schedule.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Prior experience working in veteran healthcare or government programs.
- Familiarity with certification and credentialing processes for VA-related exams.
- Ability to perform assessments within a minimal physical resource setup.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
- At least 2 years of clinical experience, ideally with mental health or physical assessment background.
- Prior experience with compensation and pension evaluations is advantageous but not mandatory.
Other Requirements:
- Own a dedicated office location within a 50-mile radius of Silver City, Deming, Hobbs, or Grants, NM.
- Willingness to work on a PRN basis with flexible scheduling options.
- Must complete required training with a bonus incentive of $650 upon full onboarding and first exams.
- Local candidates only; travel expenses are included in rates.
- Availability to perform administrative follow-up work, such as addendum submissions and diagnostics.
Compensation:
- Half-day (up to 4 hours): $800 flat rate (includes exam and reporting time).
- Full-day (5 hours or more): $1,600 flat rate.
- No overtime or holiday rates; adherence to flat rates is required.
- Additional reimbursement for licensure, certification, travel, and applicable reimbursements when applicable.
