This role offers the chance to perform non-treatment Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments across multiple locations, contributing to vital veteran services without long-term commitments.
In this role, you'll conduct interview-based assessments, including physical evaluations such as range of motion and muscle strength testing, with no prescribing or treatment responsibilities. Work on a PRN basis, choosing half-day or full-day shifts, and enjoy the convenience of a quick credentialing process and comprehensive support from a dedicated team committed to your success.
Required Skills:
- Medical Degree (MD or DO) with valid licensure in Indiana
- Board Certification or Eligibility in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Orthopedic Surgery, or related general medicine fields
- Proven experience in general medicine or compensation and pension exams
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to perform physical assessments and interviews accurately and professionally
- Detail-oriented with excellent report-writing skills
Nice to Have Skills:
- Prior experience with veteran health assessments or military-related medical evaluations
- Familiarity with telehealth tools and electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Certifications in relevant areas such as DMA or specialized medical examiner credentials
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Medical degree from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 2 years’ clinical experience in general medicine or relevant specialties
- Prior experience with VA or government-related medical assessments is advantageous
Other Requirements:
- Candidate must reside within a 50-mile radius of designated locations or have their own office space if specified
- Ability to work days on a PRN, as-needed basis, with flexible scheduling options
- Willingness to travel locally as required
- Compliance with all licensing, certification, and credentialing requirements
- The position operates on a day-shift schedule with PRN hours, providing flexibility to fit your professional and personal needs
