As a Locum Physician specializing in General Medicine, you will play a vital role in performing Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments across multiple locations in Indiana. Overview
Veterans Evaluation Services (VES), a Maximus company, is seeking experienced General Medicine providers to deliver essential evaluations for Veterans. This PRN, ongoing opportunity allows you to conduct short and full-day exams, primarily interview-based with some physical assessments. You will contribute to a meaningful cause while enjoying a flexible schedule, competitive hourly pay, and professional growth. No treatment or prescribing is involved, making this an ideal role for physicians with a background in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or similar fields.

Required Skills

• Valid medical license in Indiana
• Proven experience in general medicine, family medicine, internal medicine, or related fields
• Ability to perform Compensation & Pension exams and health assessments
• Strong interview and physical assessment skills, including range of motion and muscle strength testing
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
• Comfortable with telehealth assessments and report submission deadlines

Nice to Have Skills

• Prior experience with VA or government-sponsored assessments
• Knowledge of compensation and pension evaluation standards
• Certification in relevant medical specialties or credentials (preferred but not mandatory)
• Familiarity with medical documentation and reporting software

Preferred Education and Experience

• Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
• Active state medical license in Indiana
• Minimum of 2 years' clinical experience in general or internal medicine
• Experience conducting evaluations or assessments for government or insurance purposes

Other Requirements

• Must reside within a 50-mile radius of assigned locations for on-site roles or own a dedicated office space for provider-led assessments
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including half-day (4 hours) or full-day (8 hours) shifts
• Ability to complete exams efficiently, including report and addendum submissions
• No travel reimbursement outside of agreed pay rates; certification costs are not covered prior to employment

Pay Rate: $624.00 per hour
