Locum - Physician - General Medicine NC

Overview
We are seeking dedicated General Medicine Providers to perform interview-based exams, including physical assessments such as range of motion and muscle strength testing, primarily for Compensation & Pension evaluations. This PRN role offers flexible hours, allowing providers to work as little or as much as desired, with the opportunity to select days and locations that suit your availability. No treatment or prescribing is involved, simplifying the clinical scope while offering meaningful service to our Veterans.
Required Skills
- Active medical license in North Carolina
- Background in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or general medicine
- Experience with or knowledge of compensation and pension evaluations preferred
- Excellent communication and interview skills
- Ability to perform physical assessments as required
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
Nice to Have Skills
- Prior experience in Veterans' healthcare evaluations
- Familiarity with the VA or military medical systems
- Certifications in disability or pension examinations
- Strong organizational skills for administrative tasks like report submissions
Preferred Education and Experience
- MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in general medicine or related specialties
- Prior experience conducting C&P exams or similar assessments is desirable
Other Requirements
- Provider must have their own office location within specified radii of designated cities (Kevin Devil Hills, Murphy, Roanoke Rapids, Ruffin, Henderson, New Bern, Elizabeth City)
- Willingness to travel locally and perform exams on a PRN basis
- Credentialing and onboarding are streamlined for quick deployment
- Must adhere to the rate structure: $624 per hour, with flat rates for half-day ($800 for 4 hours or less) and full-day shifts ($1,600 for 5 hours or more)
- Scheduled start date: December 31, 2025
