Locum - Physician - OB Hospitalist Springfield, MO
Join a dynamic healthcare team as a Locum OB Hospitalist and make a meaningful impact on patient care in the Springfield region. This position offers an excellent opportunity for physicians to contribute their expertise in a supportive environment, providing high-quality obstetric care for a busy hospital managing approximately 2,700–3,000 births annually. Your skills will be vital in ensuring safe deliveries, handling NICU Level 3 cases, and managing gynecological emergencies when they arise.
Required Skills
- Medical degree (MD or DO) with valid board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology
- Active and unrestricted medical license in Missouri or eligibility to obtain one
- Proven experience in inpatient obstetric and gynecologic care
- Ability to handle high-volume deliveries efficiently
- Strong clinical judgment and excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
Nice to Have Skills
- Experience with NICU Level 3 care management
- Prior experience in a hospitalist or locum Tenens role
- Advanced certification in fetal monitoring or obstetric emergencies
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
Preferred Education and Experience
- Medical degree from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 3 years of OB hospitalist experience in a high-volume setting
- Current board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology
Other Requirements
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
- Credentialing and hospital privileges initiation
- Must have or be able to obtain required state and federal medical licenses
- Certifications in ACLS, NRP, and BLS
