Join Our Team as a Locum - Physician - Hematology Oncology in Richmond, VA

We are seeking a dedicated Locum Hematology-Oncology Physician to provide exceptional inpatient and outpatient care. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive hematology and oncology care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Oversee nurse practitioner activities to ensure seamless patient management.
- Enroll eligible patients in ongoing research studies to advance cancer treatment.
- Offer call coverage to support continuous patient care.
- Manage a patient load averaging 12-15 patients daily.
- Collaborate with a team of two practicing physicians to deliver high-quality oncology services.
- Utilize EPIC EMR to document patient encounters efficiently.
- Prioritize adult patient care in a clinical setting that combines inpatient and outpatient responsibilities.
Required Skills:
- Medical degree (MD or DO) with valid licensure to practice in Virginia.
- Proven experience in hematology and oncology.
- Strong knowledge of inpatient and outpatient oncology protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Competency with EPIC or similar EMR systems.
- Commitment to patient-centered care and research participation.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Prior research experience or enrollment in clinical trials.
- Experience managing nurse practitioners or advanced practice providers.
- Ability to work flexible weekly schedules, including Monday through Friday coverage.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus but not required.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Board certification or eligibility in Hematology and Oncology.
- Minimum of 2+ years of clinical experience in a similar setting.
- Prior locum or temporary assignments highly valued.
Other Requirements:
- Availability for coverage starting in April for weekly M-F schedule.
- Willingness to participate in hospital call rotations.
- Valid DEA and board certification, with current licenses and certifications in good standing.
- No travel required unless applicable for licensure or certification renewals.
