Position Overview

  • Role: Full-Time Primary Care Physician (Family Medicine or Internal Medicine)
  • Location: Huntsville VA Primary Clinic – Huntsville, AL
  • Employment Type: Federal (Hospital Employee)
  • Setting: Community-Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC)
  • Telework: Available (1 day per week)

Practice Environment

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive primary care to a panel of Veterans
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for coordinated care
  • Maintain a manageable patient load of ~10–12 patients per day

Schedule & Work-Life Balance

  • Clinic hours: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Patient care hours: 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Flexible 40-hour workweek with compressed schedule options
  • Telework available 1 day per week

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
  • Preferred: 2–5 years of clinical experience
  • Commitment to excellence, teamwork, and Veteran-centered care
