Nocturnist Hospitalist MD/DO - Maryview Medical Center - Portsmouth VA

Maryview Medical Center in Portsmouth, VA is seeking a dedicated and compassionate full time MD/DO Nocturnist Hospitalist.  

For this role we are seeking a physician with experience in a Hospitalist practice position.

The team will review exceptional applicants who are new to practice.  We are not able to offer visa support in this role.  We are seeking a physician who can start no later than Sept 2026.  Sooner if possible.

• Full time -180 shifts annually / 15 shifts per month
  • 7 on - 7 off schedule 
  • 12 Hour night shifts 7:00 pm to 7:00 am
  • 3 shifts to vary amongst Day Admitter OR Rounder OR Nights
  • Total Two Dedicated Nocturnists and Two Dedicated Advanced Practice Providers
  • We also have PRN Physicians who can help with Nights
  • Nights are BUSY - Average 10 admission and can flex up to 12+ based on patient need and seasonality
  • APC Support with floor calls and admissions
  • Varied and complex pathology 

• Closed Medical ICU
• Option to perform procedures but not required
• Residents run codes and RRTs

• Strong preference for 2 to 3 years of hospitalist experience
