IES seeks a Regional Medical Director for OakBend Medical Center (OBMC) located in a suburb just southwest of Houston. OBMC is the only independently owned health system in Texas and is comprised of three hospital ERs. (2 in Richmond and 1 in Wharton, TX). The three ERs are nearly fully staffed with an established core group of proven ER physicians. This position features unique aspects of collaboration and support which will include an Associate Medical Director and the Executive VP of IES Houston, who has provided clinical leadership since 2012. The current OBMC ED Medical Director will assist in the transition. This position includes a monthly stipend and 30 hours/month for administrative work.
Regional Medical Director Role:
• Provide on-site management of the clinical and administrative aspects for the emergency department.
• Manage the quality improvement plan including attending regular meetings and reviewing medical records
• Supervise staff, provide feedback, and assure provision of high-quality care
• Review the provider schedule and ensure adequate staffing
• Actively participate in the recruitment and retention of qualified physicians
• Serve as liaison between hospital administration and clinical staff and provide regular feedback to IES leadership

The Emergency Care Centers are affiliated with local nursing schools to provide clinical rotations for RN and EMT students of all levels. Their air ambulance has transfer agreements in place with several Texas Medical Center hospitals for the care of severely injured trauma patients and pediatric patients.
