Deaconess Illinois Specialty Clinic is seeking a FT Emergency Physician to join our growing team. Prior EM experience and/or EM fellowship training is required. Opportunity to work at Deaconess Illinois Medical Center in Marion Il considered the HUB for Deaconess in Southern IL. Position Type: Full-TimeDeaconess Illinois Specialty Clinic is seeking a dynamic and dedicated F/T Emergency Medicine Medical Physician to grow our comprehensive Emergency Medicine program. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact in a physician-led department, supported by a strong team of Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).

As the Emergency Department Physician, you will provide direct patient care while taking charge of clinical and administrative activities. Your leadership will be key in building a cohesive, collaborative environment, guiding the team towards continued excellence in patient care. You will oversee peer reviews, chart reviews, and work closely with the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to address both clinical and administrative issues within the department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a physician-led team with APP support.
  • Provide direct patient care in a busy, high-volume emergency department.
  • Oversee clinical operations and collaborate with hospital leadership on strategic initiatives.
  • Attend necessary meetings and engage in administrative responsibilities such as chart reviews and peer reviews.
  • Foster a collaborative, patient-centered care environment across all shifts.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Board Eligible/Board Certified in Emergency Medicine or Family Medicine with Emergency Department experience.
  • Licensed in Illinois (or willing to obtain licensure).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Passionate about enhancing the quality of patient care and developing a physician-driven model.

Work Schedule:

  • Shifts: 12-hour shifts (Day: 7am – 7pm, Night: 7pm – 7am).
  • Shift Requirements: 144 shifts/year (full-time).
  • Patient Encounters: Average of 55 patient encounters per day.
  • Admissions: Average of 11 admissions per day at the Marion campus.
