Exciting Opportunity for Locum - Physician - Oncology in Greenville, SC
Join a leading cancer treatment center as a Locum Physician in Oncology and make a meaningful difference in patient care. This temporary role offers the flexibility to work in a state-of-the-art, free-standing cancer center dedicated to comprehensive oncology services. As a vital member of the medical team, you will contribute to the management of adult and geriatric patients, collaborating on multidisciplinary tumor boards and supporting both outpatient and inpatient oncology care.
Required Skills:
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
- Board certification or eligibility in Oncology
- Valid medical license in South Carolina or ability to obtain
- Proven experience in medical oncology, including chemotherapy administration
- Strong clinical judgment and excellent communication skills
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR system
- Ability to participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and manage complex cases
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with hematology and bone marrow transplant management
- Prior locum or temporary coverage experience
- Knowledge of blood bank procedures and supportive oncology care
- Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Completion of a residency in Internal Medicine followed by a fellowship in Oncology
- Minimum of 2 years of outpatient and inpatient oncology practice
- Experience working in a multidisciplinary team environment
Other Requirements:
- Ability to begin coverage by March 6, 2026
- Credentialing completed within approximately 60 days
- Willingness to travel as necessary; facility reimburses flight, hotel, rental car, and mileage at IRS rates
- No call duties during the locum period; call expected if transitioning to permanent position, typically once every 6-8 weeks
- Practice involves approximately 25 outpatient and 20 inpatient patients daily, primarily adult and geriatric populations
This role offers an hourly pay rate of $19.50, with weekly pay via direct deposit.
