Chief Purpose of this position: The Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Cardiology is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Non-Invasive Cardiologist to provide clinical care. This position focuses on the prevention, early detection, and management of cardiovascular disease along with supporting our academic mission in research and education. Be part of a nationally recognized academic medical center while collaborating with a dynamic team of cardiologists, researchers, and educators. The incumbent will have access to state-of-the-art facilities and innovation in preventive cardiology.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Teaching: Participate in teaching medical students, residents, and cardiology fellows.

Research: To support clinical research protocols as needed.

Service: Will be expected to participate in quality, safety and efficiency initiatives

Clinical: Will primarily be dedicated to cardiovascular preventative services.

Other (for instance administrative duties, etc.): Ensure timely and accurate documentation of clinical care and submission of billing in accordance with organizational policies. Comply fully with all medical staff bylaws, rules, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications
• MD or DO degree with board certification or eligibility in cardiovascular disease
• Eligible for medical licensure in Virginia
• Clinically oriented and possess sufficient research and teaching experience to be eligible for academic appointment
• Must be able to communicate effectively and work with a large multidisciplinary program
• Must be willing to participate in teaching and fellowship programs
• Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism, and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience and strong interest with lipid management, hypertension, obesity, and lifestyle medicine
