Anesthesia Specialists of Bethlehem (ASB)
Bethlehem, Pennsylvania

Anesthesia Specialists of Bethlehem (ASB) is a premier, physician-led private anesthesia group with over 30 years of stability and excellence in perioperative care. Due to continued growth within St. Luke’s University Health Network, we are seeking a full-time, partnership-track Pediatric Anesthesiologist to join our expanding and highly collaborative team.

This position is open to newly graduating pediatric anesthesia fellows and offers a unique opportunity to practice in a large, integrated health system while caring for both pediatric and adult patients.

About Anesthesia Specialists of Bethlehem

ASB is comprised of 83 anesthesiologists and 168 CRNAs, providing anesthesia services across 13 inpatient hospitals and 3 ambulatory surgery centers within St. Luke’s University Health Network.

Key facilities include:

  • St. Luke’s Bethlehem Campus – Level I Trauma Center and primary inpatient site

  • St. Luke’s Anderson Campus – Level II Trauma Center featuring a new Mother and Baby Pavilion with ~3,500 annual deliveries

Our practice supports a broad and diverse case mix, including orthopedics, thoracic surgery, neurosurgery, interventional radiology, urology, gynecology, ENT, vascular, and general surgery. Fellowship-trained cardiac anesthesiologists provide comprehensive cardiac anesthesia services, and intensivists manage ICU care at most sites.

Pediatric Anesthesia Program

St. Luke’s has made major investments in pediatric surgical services, resulting in steady growth in pediatric volume. The Bethlehem campus includes:

  • Inpatient pediatric care unit

  • 8-bed Pediatric ICU (PICU)

  • Level III NICU within the network

ASB provides anesthesia for pediatric patients of all ages, including infants and an increasing number of neonates. Pediatric services include general surgery, ENT, urology, cosmetic plastic surgery, and pediatric MRI anesthesia.

The system employs two high-volume pediatric orthopedic surgeons (including a pediatric spine surgeon) and two pediatric gastroenterologists. Pediatric coverage is supported by a dedicated team of CRNAs.

Call: Home call, approximately 1:5, shared with a pediatric CRNA.

Clinical Model & Physician Leadership

ASB is deeply committed to the Perioperative Surgical Home model. Our physicians lead and staff:

  • Acute Pain Services

  • Surgical Optimization Clinics

  • ERAS protocols across nearly all specialties

Physician leadership is a cornerstone of our culture. ASB anesthesiologists serve in key leadership roles throughout the health system, including Vice President of Medical Affairs positions, subspecialty leadership, and clinical research initiatives.
