Join Our Team as a Locum Pediatric Anesthesiologist in Dayton, OH – Make a Difference in Children's Care!
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Locum Physician specializing in Pediatric Anesthesiology to provide essential coverage at a top-tier Level 1 Trauma Center in Dayton, Ohio. This critical role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic healthcare environment in a reputable pediatric facility. Your expertise will support life-saving procedures and ensure the highest standards of patient safety and comfort.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide anesthesiology services for pediatric patients ranging from neonatal to adolescent.
- Supervise CRNAs as part of a collaborative care team.
- Manage an average of 50-60 surgical cases per day in a hospital-based operating room setting.
- Work scheduled hours from 0700 to 1530, Monday through Friday.
- Follow established protocols within the busy surgical environment, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
- Participate in a collegial team of healthcare professionals including RNs, surgical techs, PCAs, surgeons, and APPs.
Required Skills:
- Valid medical license to practice in Ohio.
- Board Certification or Eligibility in Anesthesiology.
- Proven experience in pediatric anesthesia with a comprehensive understanding of neonatal to adult care.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong assessment, decision-making, and communication skills.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Previous experience working in a Level 1 Trauma Center.
- Experience supervising CRNAs.
- Knowledge of hospital protocols and anesthesia cart management.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
- At least 2 years of pediatric anesthesiology experience.
- Certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
Other Requirements:
- Complete internal credentialing confirmation, including fingerprints, background verification, and documentation submission promptly after acceptance.
- Ability to travel, with reimbursements provided for mileage, travel, and accommodations as per facility policies.
- Start date: January 17, 2026, with coverage from August 10th to November 16th, 2026.
- Hourly Pay Rate: $0.00 (To be discussed with qualified candidates).
