Primary Care Outpatient Practice in Southington, CT

We are seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Primary Care Physician to join a well-established, patient-focused practice in Southington, Connecticut. Responsibilities

1. Clinical Care

The NP/PA provides comprehensive patient care across inpatient and outpatient settings as part of an interdisciplinary team. Responsibilities include conducting histories and physical exams, ordering and interpreting tests, developing treatment plans, prescribing medications, and performing procedures within scope of practice and regulations. The NP/PA collaborates with supervising physicians and may practice autonomously in certain specialties, assist in operative cases, and respond to emergencies as needed.

2. Patient Education & Support

The NP/PA educates patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and available resources. They also provide compassionate psychosocial support in collaboration with the care team.

3. Documentation & Information Management

Ensures accurate and timely documentation while maintaining patient confidentiality and compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.

4. Quality & Professional Standards

Demonstrates professionalism, ethical behavior, and a strong commitment to quality and patient safety. Maintains compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational policies.

5. Professional Development

Maintains clinical competency through ongoing education, quality improvement initiatives, and safety reporting. May precept students, mentor trainees, collaborate on research or performance improvement projects, and support clinical education and protocol development.

 


Qualifications

Qualifications 

  • Degree of MD or DO with ABIM-recognized internal medicine residency (three years minimum) or ABFM-recognized family medicine residency (three years minimum) 

Licensure 

  • Valid American Board certification in either internal medicine or family medicine and renewed (if needed) prior to expiration. Valid and unrestricted Connecticut medical license BLS certification. Valid DEA registration and Controlled Substance Certificate.
