The Division of Cardiology within the Department of Medicine at UCSF offers a comprehensive and rapidly growing Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD) program that integrates outstanding clinical care, education, and innovation. UCSF is nationally recognized for excellence in cardiovascular medicine, multidisciplinary heart care, and the management of complex congenital and acquired heart disease across the lifespan. 

We are seeking an outstanding and mission-driven cardiologist to serve as Chief of Adult Congenital Heart Disease. This is a unique leadership opportunity to guide a high-impact ACHD program, collaborate closely with Pediatric Cardiology and multidisciplinary care teams, and help shape the future of adult congenital heart care at UCSF.

What We’re Looking For 

  • MD or equivalent degree. 
  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Cardiovascular Disease and Adult Congenital Heart Disease. 
  • Eligibility for California medical licensure by the time of hire. 
  • Demonstrated experience or strong potential in program leadership and clinical excellence in ACHD. 
  • Commitment to multidisciplinary care, education, and patient-centered clinical practice. 
  • National or emerging reputation in ACHD through clinical leadership, research, education, or service to the field.

  • Clinical Scope: Serve as an attending ACHD cardiologist with outpatient-focused clinical responsibilities and potential participation in inpatient and echocardiography services.

  • Academic Components: Teaching and mentorship of fellows, residents, and medical students; optional research, educational, or innovation initiatives.

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5

The minimum base salary range for this position is $131,200-$344,400. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation. Specific total compensation will be commensurate with qualifications, experience and leadership responsibilities.
