What you'll need to succeed:
- Proven expertise in gastroenterology procedures, including ERCP (essential), EGD, colonoscopy, pH studies, manometry, sigmoidoscopy, PEG/PEG-J tube placement, hydrogen breath testing, capsule endoscopy, and Propofol sedation.
- Strong skills in charting, work management, and communicating follow-up recommendations to patients.
- Ability to work independently without assistance, manage all procedural and documentation responsibilities, and review pathology results thoroughly.
- Flexibility to commit fully to scheduled dates with complete availability.
- Familiarity with hospital documentation systems such as Cerner, gGastro, and Athena.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with ultrasound guidance or other advanced endoscopic techniques.
- Prior locum or temporary coverage experience.
- Comfort working in a high-volume, multi-procedure suite environment.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Board-certified or Board-eligible in Internal Medicine or Gastroenterology.
- Valid MI medical license and current certifications.
- At least 2+ years of professional experience in a hospital or outpatient setting.
Other Requirements:
- ERCP/EUS competency is highly preferred.
- Willingness to complete credentialing and billing enrollment promptly.
- Ability to navigate and work in a paperless environment, managing all charting independently without scribe support.
- Must adhere to all facility-specific credentialing, background checks, and drug screening policies.
- Availability for scheduled dates: June 11-15 and December 11-14, with start date TBD upon credentialing completion.
- No travel or additional reimbursements are specified beyond standard licensure, certification, and work expenses.
