Winnebago Comprehensive Healthcare System (WCHS) is seeking an experienced physician leader to serve as Chief Medical Officer. This is a full-time, employed executive leadership role offering the opportunity to guide clinical strategy, quality initiatives, and provider engagement within a mission-driven, tribal healthcare system.

Position Overview

  • Senior leadership role with approximately 80% administrative / 20% clinical time

  • One day per week in clinic; flexibility for increased administrative time during onboarding

  • Replacement position

  • Oversight and collaboration across inpatient and outpatient services

  • Key member of the executive leadership team

Practice & Facility Highlights

  • Full-service hospital campus with Lab, Radiology, and Pharmacy

  • 13-bed hospital with low acuity and complexity

  • Average inpatient census: ~1 patient per day

  • ED providers round on admitted patients

  • Multidisciplinary team including:

    • 6 Physicians

    • 10 APPs

  • EMR: Meditech Expanse

  • Access to specialty services, including:

    • Dermatology

    • Urology

    • Nephrology

    • Family Practice

    • Podiatry

Candidate Profile

  • Family Medicine preferred, with experience in Emergency Medicine strongly desired

  • Board Certified / Board Eligible preferred

  • Proven or emerging physician leadership experience

  • Comfortable balancing executive responsibilities with limited clinical practice

  • Interest in serving a high-need community (HPSA score: 19)

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Outpatient clinic panel size <500 patients

  • In-office procedures permitted

  • Clinical calls routed through nursing line

  • Administrative on-call shared among C-suite leadership

Schedule

  • Standard clinic coverage:

    • Monday–Thursday: 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM

    • Friday: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM

  • Leadership on-call rotation with executive team

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive base salary (open to discussion)
