The Director will lead the creation and growth of a system-wide obesity system of excellence that unites clinical care, prevention, education, and research across UH’s extensive network — including one of the largest primary care groups in Northeast Ohio and a broad array of specialties such as endocrinology, bariatric surgery, cardiology, gastroenterology, hepatology, orthopedics, and behavioral health.

  • Proven program-building experience, ideally across large health systems
  • The ability to inspire and lead multidisciplinary teams in clinical, academic, and community settings
  • Passion for improving outcomes and access for patients with obesity and metabolic disease

Position Highlights

  • Leadership with Impact: Build and direct a fully integrated obesity program with strong institutional backing
  • Academic Platform: Faculty appointment at CWRU at the Associate or Professor level, with protected time for teaching and research
  • Collaborative Reach: Leverage UH’s robust primary care network and multi-specialty partnerships to drive coordinated care
  • Population Health Potential: Influence prevention and treatment strategies for a diverse regional population
  • Resources to Succeed: Dedicated support for program development, recruitment, and innovation initiatives

Qualifications

  • MD, DO, or equivalent; board-certified in Endocrinology, Obesity Medicine, or related specialty
