Carle Foundation Hospital, a 510-bed, not-for-profit, hospital-based practice and the flagship hospital of Carle Health, is seeking Board-Eligible or Board-Certified Emergency Medicine physicians to join its growing Emergency Department in Urbana, Illinois. This recruitment is driven by growth and regional demand following the closure of a competing hospital.

Carle Foundation Hospital is the only Level I Trauma Center within a 1.5-hour radius and provides comprehensive, high-acuity emergency and specialty care to the region. The Emergency Department sees approximately 95,000 patient visits annually and is supported by a full complement of onsite specialty services.

Opportunity Highlights

• Established and collegial group of approximately 50 emergency physicians and 20 advanced practice providers

• EPIC electronic medical record

• Level I Trauma Center with comprehensive in-house specialty support including trauma surgery, anesthesia, ICU, cardiology, OB/GYN, pediatrics, ENT, plastics, and general surgery

• Hospitalist team supports admissions and triage in the Emergency Department

• Opportunity to participate in medical education with medical students and PA students through Carle Health and the Carle Illinois College of Medicine

• Research and committee involvement opportunities available

Candidate Qualifications

• Completion of an ACGME-accredited Emergency Medicine residency

• Board Eligible or Board Certified in Emergency Medicine

• Family Medicine–trained physicians are not eligible for this position

• New graduates and experienced physicians are encouraged to apply

• J-1 visa sponsorship is not available

Compensation & Benefits

• $275 per hour with an additional $60 per hour night differential
