Locum - Physician - General Medicine Houston, TX

Required Skills:
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
- State medical license valid in Texas
- Board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or relevant specialties
- Experience conducting Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments preferred
- Strong interview and physical assessment skills, including range of motion and muscle strength testing
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Nice to Have Skills:
- Prior experience with Veterans Health Administration (VHA) or government contracts
- Familiarity with telemedicine platforms or remote assessment procedures
- Certification in DMA or related credentials
- Experience with documentation and report submission for VA exams
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
- Minimum of 1-2 years clinical experience, particularly in internal or family medicine
- Prior experience with compensation and pension evaluations is a plus but not required
Other Requirements:
- Own office within 50 miles of the applicable Texas city for providers conducting exams at their own facility; remote or per diem availability may be considered
- Must be able to perform non-treatment, interview-based exams and physical assessments without prescribing or treatment responsibilities
- Willingness to undertake quick credentialing and onboarding process
- Availability to operate on a PRN basis, with flexible half-day or full-day shifts
- Be prepared for regular administrative follow-up work, including report addendums and opinions, compensated within agreed-upon rates
- Local candidates only; travel and related reimbursements included in pay rates; no additional reimbursement for certifications or training prior to start
