Locum - Physician - General Medicine Houston, TX

This flexible role offers the opportunity to work on a PRN basis, performing non-treatment compensations and separation health assessments. The position requires a compassionate, detail-oriented physician with strong interview and assessment skills. Candidates should be comfortable conducting interview-based evaluations, with some physical assessments such as range of motion and muscle strength testing, but without prescribing or treatment responsibilities.

Required Skills:

• Medical license in good standing in the United States
• Experience or background in general medicine, family medicine, internal medicine, or orthopedic surgery
• Strong interview and assessment capabilities
• Ability to perform Compensation & Pension exams and separation health assessments
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail

Nice to Have Skills:

• Prior experience with VA or military-related evaluations
• Familiarity with compensation and pension processes
• Experience with physical assessments and minor diagnostics

Preferred Education and Experience:

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
• Board certification or eligibility in family medicine, internal medicine, or related specialties
• Prior experience conducting VA exams or similar assessments is advantageous
• At least 2 years of clinical practice experience

Other Requirements:

• Own a medical office within 50 miles of the listed locations in West Virginia (Gassaway or Nutter Fort)
• Willingness to work ½ days (4 hours) or full days (8 hours)
• Capable of completing exams, reports, addendums, and administrative follow-up independently
• No travel or certification reimbursements are provided outside of approved rates
• Local candidates only; travel included in rates
