Pediatric Residency Program Director – Cone Health | Greensboro, NC

Cone Health is seeking a Pediatric Residency Program Director to lead and oversee a growing, ACGME-accredited residency program in Greensboro, NC. This is a key leadership opportunity for a physician passionate about medical education, program development, and mentoring the next generation of pediatricians.

The Program Director is responsible for the overall administration, operations, and academic leadership of the residency program in accordance with ACGME requirements, reporting to the Designated Institutional Official (DIO) and Graduate Medical Education (GME) Committee.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and oversight of residency program operations and administration
  • Ensure compliance with ACGME standards and institutional policies
  • Lead resident recruitment, selection, evaluation, and promotion
  • Oversee curriculum development, teaching, and scholarly activity
  • Supervise residents and ensure high-quality education within patient care settings
  • Foster a positive, collaborative learning environment
  • Partner with GME leadership to support program growth and continuous improvement

Qualifications:

Education:

  • MD or DO from a medical school recognized by the North Carolina Medical Board
  • Equivalent international medical degree (as recognized by the NC Medical Board)

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of educational and/or administrative experience
  • Demonstrated specialty expertise or qualifications acceptable to the ACGME Review Committee

Licensure/Certification:

  • Board Certified (ABMS or AOA) in Pediatrics
  • Eligible for or current North Carolina medical license
  • Eligible for Cone Health Medical Staff privileges
  • Must maintain board certification in specialty
