North Alabama Bone and Joint Clinic (NABJC) is a trusted orthopaedic leader serving North Alabama with comprehensive surgical and non-surgical care delivered by a collaborative, high-performing team.

We are seeking a Fellowship-Trained Hand & Upper Extremity Surgeon to join our established private practice with strong regional demand and immediate volume. This is a unique opportunity to build a sustainable, well-supported upper extremity practice within a respected organization that has served the community for over 40 years.

Practice Scope

  • Distal humerus to fingertip surgery
  • Simple and complex fracture care
  • Arthroplasty and arthroscopy
  • Tendon and nerve repair/transfers
  • Bread-and-butter hand procedures (carpal tunnel, cubital tunnel, trigger finger)
  • Optional shoulder arthroscopy and arthroplasty based on interest

There is significant demand for hand and upper extremity services in the region, offering strong volume potential and long-term career stability, and regular Worker’s Compensation cases.

Support & Infrastructure

  • Experienced clinic and OR staff
  • Two highly skilled Certified Hand Therapists
  • Physician Assistant support available
  • On-site rehab and MRI
  • ModMed EMR for clinical efficiency

Call

  • Coverage at two hospitals
  • Approximately 2 weekends per quarter
  • 3–4 weekdays per month
  • General orthopaedic call (hip fractures, basic trauma)
  • No advance call requests

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Guaranteed base salary with productivity bonus opportunity as Associate Physician

 Education & Qualifications

  • BC/BE in Orthopaedic Surgery and Hand Surgery
  • Fellowship-trained in Orthopaedic Hand Surgery
  • Eligible for or holding a valid Alabama medical license
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Patient-focused, collaborative team player
